Guest Alek
i have a movie file (DivX in .avi) and i want to record a part of it into .wav. how one goes about doing this?
Guest phlux0r
You can load the avi into SoundForge (and I guess other audio editing apps). Then just find the section you wanto to save as wav and highlight it. Then copy and paste to a new file (make sure you use the same audio settings like your original audio stream ie. 48kHz/16bit or whatever the movie audio is). Then save the new file as wav and there you have it. Note: when loading the avi into soundforge, it will create a proxy file which is larger than the actual movie file so make sure you have enough disk space. You can delete that proxy file after you ripped all the samples you want.
