Guest Peter
hello friends. I got a little problem, I just got a "Studio 3" midiinterface, but i dont know how to connect it to my nordlead3 and my computer. I didnt get any cables with it. So my question is: 1, What cable do i need to the computer?, and where should i connect it in the interface? Cause there is both Printer and modemports. (that i think i should connect it) And then theres loads of Midi in and out. 2. How do i connect everything so it works?? If someone has the time, can you give an example on a working "setup", including how i connect the nordlead? Thank you guys!
Guest DeeperNETWERK
Well. You need to get 5 pin Din cables, which is just a standard midi cable. Don't go cheap and buy Radioshack midi cables, cause they suck. If the interface came with serial/modem cables... use the serial (printer) port. Install the drivers. Midi out of your interface, to midi in on your nord. Midi in of your interface, to midi out on your nord. It should matter which in/out ports you use, but to make it easy on yourself just use I/O port 1. ...And remember, MIDI isn't audio. It has NOTHING to do with audio, it's just a language so your computer and recieve and transmit data to and from your Nord, or any other midi device.
