Guest Andreas of Amygdala
Word! I've never come across a decent loop for psy - anyway, I would still prefer to program from scratch... It's more fun, it's easier, and it sounds BETTER! No sampleCD creator knows what is going on in your head, so how could he make the loops you want...? .oO Andreas Oo. Guest Lord of Destiny
and how DO you make loops of your own?
Guest Andreas of Amygdala
Same way as you would stack loops together I guess - just with single samples of the individual drums and percussion-instruments. Get a software sampler, load up some cool sounds of kicks, snares, hats and whatever, and program the sampler from MIDI, do it in fruityloops, or which-ever program you've got (or gets ) Depends on what kind of groove you want, which sequencer you ooze and all that. When you program your drum track yourself, it is also much easier to create phunky fills and breaks - which is almost impossible with complete loops. You have eternal freedom to do whatever you want. Loops can be good, but mostly for a back-groove, that just lingers on it's own, and supports the main groove. .oO Andreas Oo.
Guest Lord of Destiny
ooh you mean a loop! i'm sorry i had mistaken it with your own drum sounds!! yes naturally create your own drumloops there does not exist a loop that's exactly as good as the one in your head you'll have to make it yourself... btw, does anyone use fx on their drum sounds? how/what kind of? Guest Pandable
I do, but I'm wierd. You'll often find EQ on my entire drum set, not that that's wierd... but in addition, I sometimes flange my hihats, noise gate my snares or run square wave LFO through the volume of them while modifying the rate of the LFO, delay my hihats, delay my kick drum (done it once and it ruled)... that kinda stuff. Guest Lord of Destiny
that sounds cool! I haven't experimented with it very much myself yet.. and are there people who make their own drumsounds?? or does everyone just rip a huge pile of drum sounds off some site and pick a few out to work with?
