Guest PiNG
How can I use Cubase as a sampler? I mean, I want to create a partiture/score [like the MIDI ones] and each note plays a wave sample like a kick or a Hat... I know how to do that easily in fruity loops but now im trying to make the transition... i prefer cubase just beacuse of the score... thanks in advance! Guest soliptic
The cubase style is all about using plugins for things like this. In this case a software / vsti sampler. Here are some examples: Battery Kontakt Halion EXS24 GigaStudio and many many more. Personally, I strongly strongly recommend u get yourself a copy of NI Battery... for drum samples, especially, i have never encountered a slicker, easier, and more high-quality way of handling beats within a VST environment. Battery isnt quite so good for anything other than beats/percussion, though (its not meant to be). If you want a sampler for multisampled instruments, lead sounds, basslines, twisted noises and fx, or whatever, then get NI Kontakt. Its not as fast and easy for drums, but for everything else it is very flexible and very powerful (and has beautiful sounding filters, whihc is always a bonus for psytrance!)
