Guest emptyspace Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 Hi I have a question, maybe somebody can offer advice... I use Reason to compose tracks. Now I want to add vocals to my tracks, however Reason doesn't let you record straight-up. So.... I'm thinking of using another program as a master (with Reason the slave) thru ReWire for the purpose of adding vocals and guitar. I have been told Cubase is the best program for working with Reason.... However I'm open to other ideas (also Cubase is expensive... but I can work around that (in a legal way, I will purchase it)). I'm working on a rather outdated laptop, and using Reason and Cubase together just WON'T WORK (I'm RAM-impaired...LOL)... Ahem... I am going to upgrade to a better, desktop machine soon. Should I bite the bullet and wait until I have my desktop, and get Cubase? OR should I get another program instead, that would suit my needs better (preferrably in a more cost-effective way)? I'm not sure how I would add vocals thru Reason alone. I THINK I could record my vocals in small chopped parts and play them thru (many) samplers... But that's a lot of samplers.... Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! Quote
Guest tony Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 I believe you could use a good mic and recored it on wav format use a good computer mic and use the NNXT nn19 which could allow you use the wav sound vocal sample. Tony Quote
Guest alejandro Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 i would seriously recommend you to get a better PC or laptop as you wish, in order to work with audio properly and in a more professional way. then get cubase sx., finish all your track on reason and then you may work with rewire as you already thought., or as soon as you finish your track on reason render ir or export it as a wav file and then just add the vocals in cubase, you can even remaster your track with cubase, there`s no better way or just going to a real time studio wich will be really expensive. i`m a sound engineer so belive me.
