Guest PsyDark
I want to make that amazing bassline like Astrix, or GMS, or ... Can someone give me an advice on this subject? What VST to use? What effects to apply? Maybe someone knows how to get that wonderful bass sound? And some samples of your bassline or complete tracks with it would be highly appreciated. Put links here. Guest sex
hi man the vst is not the most important thing. if you want to make a bassline like Astrix, you must have a very great soundcard, which makes yours sounds more powerfull! the final thing is the fuckeng great mastering, the israelis always have, and that coast alot!! but don't worry! one day you will get it!!!! bye
Guest Mass_Attak
I´m sorry, but what is an "mastering"?
Guest soliptic
sorta post production an expert guy with $50,000 speakers, a lifetime of training in his ears, and a rack full of expensive powertoys like transient designers, multiband compressors, spectral enhancers ... his job is to make the tracks super fat and punchy and clean and loud and balanced

Guest Tranceptor
I say multilayering basssounds is the way to go... Use a subbass with just 0-80 in to emphasize the parts in your bassline which should sound full Then use a normal psybass and cut out the first 200 and emphasize the 3000-6000 bit... DEEP! Guest Strooder
Remeber to add SWING/Shuffle to the midi bassline track to make it more alive. One thing to add about Astrix or any other clean psytrance is that the bass have room to do the magic things... This mean u have to remove any low frequency from all the other sounds in the song... also an outboard compressor/limiter is better then most vst ones... good luck Strooder
Guest marc
I am also experimenting with Psy basses, but it is not easy. What is the best (VST) instrument to do it, on what interval do you play (1/16th notes with a 1/32th length), eq, etc?. The basses I hear from professional artists are deep, short and great sounding in the mix. Anyone on this forum succeed in reproducing those Psy basses? Progressive basses are more easy to create in my opinion. Anyone has an (Cubase) example? Regards, Marc
