Guest malfunkt
check out motu, echo, presonus and rme for the most professional laptop cards. all have their pros and cons but are miles ahead of any creative labs product. M-Audio is a great choice for a bit lower budget and their new firewire card can be powered by the firwire bus(if its a 6pin connection). go to pro audio forums and you will find all kinds of posts on this topic which should help to answer any questions you have.
