you should give propellerheads reason a try, or consider using a host like steinberg cubase or emagic logic with plug-in equipment. or why not both if you can afford it?

cheers!

...THX:-)

At the moment I'm trying it with fruity loops -> it's very easy to use, but I'm not shure if it is good enough, if there are enough different possibilitys...I don't wont to start with this tool and than after half a year I remark that there are much better tools...

are there any other users of fruity loops??->comments...

thanks for the help!!!

If you use fruityloops 3.*, then you're better off with other tools. Then again fruityloops 4 or the newest, 3.5.6, Is a very powerfull and easy tool to compose. And almost every VSTi plugin you use for cubase you can also use for fruityloops. And they rock too. fruityloops 4 has got a major improvement since the 3.* series. I find in cubase it takes more time to get the results i want. So i'm just a fruityloops fan :)

Reason is amazing. I highly recommend it.

There is so much that can be done with Reason... nearly limitless things in terms of sound design and syth modeling. It is so far the most powerful tool I have used -or it at least has the potential to be such-. Logic audio is an exception, but reason is easier than logic and far cheaper.

Reason may leave a bit to be desired as far as the "full blown sequencing" factor goes. It would be nice if Reason could work with non Midi-fied audio files. It could use a little nicer sequencer and some of the effects really need to be reworked (compressor... blah). I give it time, though. The software needs to and will evolve -it already has evolved immensly in the few years that it has been around.

Reason 2 is far improved over Reason 1 as far as it's potential to be used as a serious production environment. One MAY consider it limited, but if you consider Reason limited then fruityloops is just *laughable*. Now with Rewire 2... ohh man. I loved the ability to use ReBirth with Reason. Now I have the ability to interface 64 tracks of Reason with Protools, I can stream audio and midi into Protools and use all of my Protools plugins on any reason channel. I can figuratively interface vst devices with reason by using rewire. However I maintain that Reason needs to incorporate VST plugins and what have you. Most people I have talked to agree. Also, there is a fledgeling software software program called ReVision that enables the user to sync video with reason. I have used ReVision on a filmscore and... um, well, it needs lots of work. However just having ReVision made the process 100x easier than before. Also you can use logic and protools with rewire to do the video.

The real clincher is the fact that Reason costs under $500. I purchased Reason 1.x for $280 U.S.
