Guest DT
.....A good keyboard of course. I'll be purchasing some music books soon. I figure this is the only way that I can learn. After I learn how to play, read, and write some music(Nothing extraordinary. It'll probably take 6 or more months to learn), I will try to start composing some electronica music. Guys, I'm just doing this stuff as a hobby. I'm not trying to be a trance superstar like you guys . Anyways, I may buy a keyboard. I need something cheap, but it has to be a really good one. It also has to have midi capabilites as well. I need some recommendations and a website where to purchase. Also, if possible, can any of you guys recommend me any good books which'll teach me basics about playing piano/keyboard(reading/writing notes, octaves,key/note placement, etc)
Guest blo
I'm in the boat with you... I started practicing DJing a month ago (got 2 denon 3000's and a nice ecler mixer) and have been wanting to learn playing the piano for years and just now have to money to buy a piano (since my grandmom rather lets here 2000$ piano rot away in her flat and never play with it in years than give it to me). I too thought playing the piano would give me an edge in producing psy over not playing the piano besides the fact that I really like the way the piano sounds. I don't need any bells & whistles (most electronic keyboards have tons of uberfeatures I don't need) but it should have all the keys a real piano has and, yes a midi out would be nice.
