Guest Psy_Fields Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 I finally came to some money and I think it would be smart to spend that on sound . So... I need some music card in rang of Ego systems Waveterminal 192L, but I heard that there is a noise while recording on this card, so is it the same thing on audigy 2? And offcourse I need some speakers so I ment to buy Jazz 9940, but someone told me that Genius have better speakers for that money, hm... genius...I don`t trust them , so please help me about this. Thank`s Greetingz from Serbia... Quote
Guest miKeLogic303 Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Yes Psy Fields, I would recommend you stay away from Creative products for pro audio. They are designed for gamers and home entertainment. For example, the digital I/O on the SB Live Platinum was so bad that it was better to record through the analogue inputs....! (and yes, I did own one of these) The M Audio - Delta Audiophile, 1010 or 1010LT would be recommended. You will find the 1010 in many studios, but if you are starting out you can get the same quality with just stereo in/out from the Audiophile. You can then add a cheap hardware mixer to get mic preamps and connect your synths for recording. A hardware mixer is also great for quick volume control, espicially on active speakers! As for speakers, for the price of the Jazz you could get proper studio monitors. Try for brands like Tannoy, Genelec, Event etc. I would recommend Samson amplifiers if you are getting passive speakers, if they are active the amplifiers are built in instead. And check lots of reviews if you can't test them out yourself. http://www.soundonsound.com http://www.tweakheadz.com http://www.sonicstate.com Good luck! miKeLogic Quote
