Guest ZX81
Yeah it is really good. Don't know if there is a mac version. Why noone uses it: Crap marketing department Propellerheads already had heaps of marketing for Rebirth so when Steinberg bought them and added their own marketing weight, Reason got publicized everywhere. There's probably a demo from the website. Try this: Get a plain sawtooth wave in Orion and Reason, sweep it with any of the filters and listen to the sound. Orion to me seems rich, warm and analogue, and while Reason doesn't sound overly digital (unlike buzztracker at times for example), it lacks the real warmth. BTW: I'm talking straight saw waves, no effects etc... Another thing...Orion comes with cross delays and stuff ready to use, whereas in Reason you have to do stupid stuff with send effects returning to channels... I think people will gradually catch on though. I only just found out about it a couple of months ago and it's up to version 5, so I don't know where it was hiding for 1,2,3 and 4... Aparently one of the latest sound on sound or future music magazines has an article on creating something with the Orion... Peace out, Matt
