Hi,

I want to edit a wav-file which is used several times, e.g. a snare loop. How can I do this

without changing the original file. To make sure what I mean look at the following arrangement blocks:

[snare] [snare edit1] [snare] [snare edit2]

measure 1 2 3 4

Anyhow, I suppose there is a funktion which creates a new wave-file when a file/wav-block is copied and inserted.

So I hope you can help me, I'm looking forward to your advice.

Thanks !

I see what you mean. When you simply copy a part, both the copied and original part use the same waveform as source.

I don't know the solution, but if you have some spare audio channels simply use them for the snare edits.

It's pretty frustrating to use the Cubase audio channels in this manner.

It would be much easier to use a VST sampler like Kontakt or Battery for your snare loop variations... and only use the Cubase audio channels to record VST/MIDI tracks as a whole.

Thank you for your reply!

Your audio channel idea brings me to a very obvious solution simply back-uping the source file in various files, so that every edited waveform responses to its own file.

I'm so lazy...
